After the death of Emanuele Inzerillo the organization decided to neutralize the sixth stage. Competitors, service crews and organization drove to the bivouac in Midelt on the servicetrack over more than 200 kilometres. There the riders prepare for the last stage to Saidia.

With coming back to starting place Midelt the competitors had to undergo a massive change of circumstances. Midelt, on 2.500 metres altitude, has a difference in temperature of about twenty degrees celsius. In the last stage to Saidia that can make the difference.

The ultimate stage is about 600 kilometres long and will decide the winners of the 2017 Tuareg Rally. The organization has created a stage with difficult navigation, fast pistes and tricky spots.
