Jean Azevedo has won the Rally dos Sertões 2015. His win is his career sixth, over twenty years after he won his first Sertões Rally, back in 1995.  “I am very happy”, Azevedo told after winning the 23rd edition of the rally. “After doing one year in the cars, I came back to win the title on the motorbike this year and I succeeded.” Azevedo took victory with an advantage over twelve minutes on Ramon Sacilotti

Adrien Metge closed in on third position, 15 minutes behind Azevedo. Metge secured a stage win and said he learned loads during his first presence in Brasil: “Navigation is hard and you have to rely on navigating skills. It was hard but I learned a lot.” The Frenchmen was the first of only three non-Brazilian competitors.

Marcelo Medeiros won the Quad-category for the second time. He had a comfortable lead for most of the rally, after gaining lots of time in the first few stages. Medeiros lead was 44 minutes of Pedro Costa, he won seven consecutive stages.

The 23rd edition of the Rally dos Sertões covered over 2800 kilometers in seven stages. 31 of 39 participants reached the finish after seven stages in Foz do Iguacu.
